The Inaugural Patron of Yerrabi Yurwang, Aunty Agnes Shea OAM was a highly respected Elder of the Ngunnawal People of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and surrounding regions. For many decades, Aunty Agnes was a strong voice for Aboriginal People and her Community, advocating, among many things, for better education of younger generations. By providing opportunities for Aboriginal people to gain educational qualifications, Yerrabi Yurwang continues her legacy by contributing to the growth of a knowledgeable and skilled Aboriginal workforce educating and caring for future generations. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The\u00a0Aunty Agnes Shea Early Childhood Education Scholarships offer opportunities for Aboriginal people living in Canberra to gain qualifications in Early Childhood Education or enhance their existing Early Childhood Education qualifications.\u00a0Yerrabi Yurwang is supporting community members to find meaningful employment with the knowledge, skills and supports to deliver high quality, culturally informed, responsive and safe services for children in our community.\u202f\u00a0<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Yerrabi\u00a0Yurwang aims to increase\u00a0the number of qualified Aboriginal Early Childhood\u00a0Educators\u00a0in the early education sector in Canberra to support\u00a0Yerrabi\u2019s\u00a0vision of a highly qualified and sustainable\u00a0Aboriginal workforce which meets\u00a0the cultural obligations and needs of Aboriginal children and families.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
The\u00a0Scholarship\u00a0program will provide both financial, study\u00a0and\u00a0wrap-around\u00a0support\u00a0for\u00a0scholarship recipients to\u00a0promote a positive\u00a0and fulfilling learning experience\u00a0ensuring\u00a0high levels\u00a0of completion.\u00a0<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
